Enviro Sports Muir Woods Race (25K) April, 12th 2008 : This race has been held for over 20 years. There are three distances you can enter - the 7 mile, 25K or Marathon. The Marathon and 25K run from Stinson Beach (see photos below) to Muir Woods and back on a looping course with the Marathon taking a longer tour on another trail, then all return to Stinson. Note the first picture at the beach in the morning before the race, then the beach crowded in the afternoon. The weather was sunny and in the 80's by afternoon. Big redwood trees provided welcomed shade during much of the race. I ran the 25k in 3 hours 30 minutes, and being the only one in my age group also won first place. The course has 3400 ft. of climbing over two steep mountains. On a clear day, you can see parts of San Francisco from the beach.
