Warren > Yurok restored Indian village at Patrick's Point a short distance inland from the rocky coast. I'll bet the Indians enjoyed eating those mussels, and catching fish along the coast.
Warren > Native Americans lived in interesting log houses like this.
Warren > Samoa Cookhouse where we ate dinner. Somoa California is located just west of Eureka on a small island. It is home to several lumber mills. The cookhouse once was used to serve the workers at the mills. Now it's mostly tourists.
Warren > Here I am just before we enjoyed a dinner here.
Warren > Food is served family style, and includes all you can eat. The cookhouse is also a museum of early lumber saws and tools.
Warren > Dinner included fresh homemade bread and soup.
Warren > Families enjoy eating at the long tables.
Warren > Pictures on the walls show loggers by a huge redwood tree they have just cut down. Less the 1% of the primary growth trees exist today. All of the giant, thousand year old trees have been cut down, except for a few, mostly in state parks.
Warren > The museum also includes old kitchenware and equipment.
